In a recent survey commissioned by Cisco and conducted by InsightExpress, concerns were validated regarding the state of U.S. organizations’, both public and private, ability to continue operations if major business interruptions occurred.
Of the many interesting observations revealed in the survey, one that remains troubling for the business contiuity community, is that business continuity and resilience were not the main drivers for implementing remote access for workers.
You can read more about this topic in an article that was written by Matthew Harwood, who presents and discusses other findings from the survey and was recently cited in a posting in the Security Management magazine by clicking here.

Certainly, security professionals must be totally capable of evaluating risk, but, more importantly, in any organization, it is becoming more necessary to communicate that risk to management in a way that gets a buy-in and support for truly being able to mitigate that risk for the organization.
With that in mind, we suggest you read a recent article published in Dark Reading, and authored by Tim Wilson. Much of the material in the article comes from a series of speakers and presentation made at the recent CSI Annual Conference - 2009 .
