    Investments in Information Security Slashed in 2008

     

    The third edition of the Deloitte TMT (Technology, Media, and Telecommunications) Global Security Survey reveals that 32 percent of respondents reduced their information security budgets, while 60 percent of respondents believe they are “falling behind” or still “catching up” to their security threats. This figure, the survey results report, is a significant increase from 49 percent over the previous year.

    At a time when more attention and support is needed to address the growing concerns to protect your organization from information security threats, this report clearly indicates that these activities are taking a back seat to budgets.  Read more in this article.

    The Next Supply Chain Risk: Political Extremism?

    Justin Fogarty, Managing Editor of Supply Excellence, has written an article trying to address the potential risk that political extremism could have on our global supply chain.  The article is also a reaction to a recent poll quoted and reported in a story by  the New York Times  where it was stated  that “….(a) solid majority of people in the major Western democracies expect a rise in political extremism in their countries as a result of the economic crisis,” .
