Privacy is Being Lost More and More Online

We believe that we can all agree that the growth of dependency on the internet by both private and commercial interests and activities is without question.  The added concern of how the use of the internet  is affecting privacy is also a fact that is not only agreed upon but also is a part of internet usage that many organizations watch very carefully when it comes to online security and privacy issues.  When coupled with growing regulatory mandates and economic penalties for non-compliance to those regulations, it is easy to see how the potential occurence of  security and privacy breaches can have a great impact on that organization’s ongoing business and its business continuity plans.

With interests in social networking activity on the internet growing for both organizations and individuals, we believe a recent article about how we are losing  our privacy as individuals on the internet as written by Gregory M. Lamb, staff writer for the Christian Science Monitor, is well worth reading.  We think this article has a lot to say about an individual’s privacy on the internet that speaks to and may be a precursor to similar concerns facing an organization regarding its privacy issues on the internet.

Are Zombies the Next Supply Chain Risk?

In a recent article published by John Westerveld in The 21st Century Supply Chain newsletter, the newest risk in our supply chains are ”zombies” ….i.e. those suppliers who have been significantly impacted by the recent economic downturn, who are significantly undercapitalized, and are just limping along.

Click here to read more about the “zombies” that might be present in your own supply chain.
